Self-care can be defined as taking intentional steps to improve your own health and wellbeing. This can include a wide variety of different activities which makes oneself feel happier, more energised and overall a more healthy version of you.

Exercising is one of the most important activities you can do for the wellness of your physical body. The best thing is, exercising doesn’t have to be boring! There are so many different forms of exercise such as weights, walking, running, biking, swimming, pilates, stretching, barre, yoga, body-weight workout and hiking. Even better, all these exercises could be done in groups or on your own depending on what you fancy. Exercising even just 3-4 times a week can have a massive impact on your overall body health as well as your mental wellbeing. We recommend mixing it up and doing something different each week to both keep it interesting and match what you feel like doing.

Two words: Skincare routine. Ladies if you have already adopted a skincare routine, then you know the benefits before I even mention them. This is one of the best ways to not only look after your skin, but also make time look after yourself, for yourself. Facemask, sirums, moisturizers, facial scrubs, cleansers, eye creams face mists the whole shabang. It’s what we live for and more importantly, what your skin lives for. Your skin will be vibrant and clear and not only because it thrives with nourishing products morning and night, but because you will feel better within yourself with radiates through your gorgeous skin.
Take Days for Yourself
Productivity can be the biggest cause for loss of motivation and stress. If we don’t achieve everything we wanted to in a day, we automatically feel bad and like we are behind on our workload. However, it is not possible to be highly productive every single day with no break or rest. Therefore, we should all embrace taking a whole day for ourselves to rest or do something we love to fill our cup again. Maybe spend a day at a spa, go for a shopping trip or just simply lay in bed and watch movies all day. It is important that you take time just for you.
Ultimately, self-care tends to the best version of you. The version of you that is happier, has more energy, is more selfless, and will never turn down an opportunity. Never underestimate how the very action of self-care can positively impact all areas of your life. Why would you not make the investment?!
